Sixmilebridge Community Hall was a hive of activity earlier this month when Limerick based Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) visited with a team of employees as part of the company’s first ever global Day for Doing Good, a company-wide day of service.
Regeneron, located in Raheen, Limerick is a now a major employer in the area and was just recently in the news for announcing an additional 300 jobs in Raheen and being ranked Science Magazine’s #1 Biopharma Employer for Fifth Time which is easy to see why with initiatives like this.
The hall in Sixmilebridge is the centre piece of the local community hosting events such as Bingo, Community Games, Scouts discos, Senior Citizens Christmas party, Youth Club Pantos and various fitness classes received a facelift as part of Regeneron’s community initiative.
The Regeneron team included local senior hurler and U8 Coach Caimin Morey and U10 coach Donal Mullins who were part of a team of 20 volunteers. Work completed included painting the hall, stage and dressing rooms under the watchful eye of 2 skilled painters also provided by Regeneron.
A big Thank you to Regeneron and the team who visited and did a top class job for our local community – Indeed head groundsman John Corbett commented he never saw people as happy in their work and said only he was happily retired a few years now he would be sending in his CV.
