Sixmilebridge 2-15 O Callaghans Mills 1-11

The Bridge Seniors had a 7 point win on home ground in round 1 of the 2018 Division 1 Clare cup against neighbours O'Callaghans Mills. While the weather was ice cold John O'Meara and his management team will take great heart from the effort put in by all and the supporters will take great encouragement from the sprinkling of youth introduced to the team with 5 newcomers from the U21 team playing their part in the win.

Indeed it was U21 player Jason Loughnane who has been understudy to Derek Fahy for the last number of years who finished a great move in the first half to raise a green flag and put the Bridge 1-05 to 0-06 up at half time. In the second half the Bridge slowly took command and Brian Corry was unlucky for a brace of goals while Darragh Fitzgerald finished off a great run by Gavin White for the Bridge's second major.
