What better way to start County Final day but to get out on the field early and enjoy some of the finest action the Under 12 hurling scene has to offer.

Scariff Ogonnelloe were the opposition this morning for the U12s who brought two teams to Ogonnelloe. First in action were Team Yellow at 10am. After a strong first half, the Bridge lads went into the break with a four point lead. The amalgamation came out all guns blazing in the second half, hit 3 quick goals and were 3 points ahead at the 2nd water break.

The last quarter was end to end stuff, with captain Jack McNamara and Zak Phelan leading the fightback. After drawing level with the opposition as full time approached, they were unlucky to lose the game by conceding a late goal on the break. Other good performances for Sixmilebridge included Luke Deegan and Tommy Healy with Darragh Sweeney and Evan Madigan also getting on the scoresheet.

Team Blue rolled into Ogonnelloe for an 11am throwin in what turned out to be another epic battle. Captained by the all-action Donal O'Leary they went toe to toe against their Scariff\Ogonnelloe counterparts for the entire match. Unfortunately they were also pipped at the post by a solitary goal. Rory Chaplin had a stormer in this game clocking up an impressive 3-5 with great displays also from Cillian O'Connor and Ross Kearney.

A great mornings hurling for the lads against tough opposition - no doubt this was the first battle of many between these particular sets of players in the years to come. After the final whistle went there was a mad rush for the cars and a spin home at breakneck speed in order to get back in good time for the County Final #bridgeabu !

Next up for the Under 12s is a championship game against Doora Barefield in Gurteen next Sunday.

Finally, best wishes to our squad member Aidan Cunniffe who fractured his wrist recently - we hope to see him back gracing O'Garney Park and Cappa Lodge in the next few weeks!
