Clare put behind them the disappointment of their first round defeat to Tipperary when they trounced Kerry in this Munster minor hurling championship losers round clash at Austin Stack Park on Thursday, April 13.
Backboned by St. Flannan’s players who will meet Dublin Colleges in the All-Ireland Colleges finals on the May Bank Holiday Monday, Clare were in a different class to their opponents. The Kingdom couldn’t curb the outstanding David Reidy, who tormented their full back line and finished as top scorer with a personal haul of 1-8.
Scorers – Clare: D Reidy 1-8, J O’Connor 2-1, C O’Donovan 1-2, J Conlon 1-1, C Morey 0-3, C Tierney 0-2, D McMahon 0-2, C Ryan and K Whelan 0-1 each. Kerry: T Hannafin 0-7, J Flaherty, D Galvin and J Doherty 0-1 each.
