Dumping Blights Local Landscape
Thursday, 3rd April 2008
Submitted by Administrator

The practice of indiscriminate dumping has raised its ugly head in the parish in the past few weeks with refuse sacks of domestic rubbish having been dumped on the roadside at various locations. While an old mattress has turned up at Ballysheen, the problem of illegal dumping is particular acute along the Rossmanagher Road and at the Pike Bridge, on the Sixmilebridge to Cratloe Road. Members of the Tidy Towns committee are abhorred by the latest wave of dumping which occurred under the cover of darkness. They’ve appealed to people to exercise their civic spirit by reporting anybody they see engaged in the practice so that they face the full rigours of the courts.
