Sixmilebridge turned the tables on Ballyea in a thrilling under 14 county final in Newmarket last Friday night which also had the added bonus of doubling up as the Feile final.
Last year Ballyea were victorious when the sides met at the same stage of the competition but this time there was no denying the Eamonn Fennessy managed and Brian Carey led Sixmilebridge side who won emphatically, on a 4-17 to 3-2 scoreline.
This was Sixmilebridge’s sixth successive county Feile final appearance and they’ve enjoyed a fifty per cent success rate.
Indeed, Sixmilebridge, for the second time in three years, will represent Clare in both the hurling and camogie national Feile final. This year they will be hosted by Laois-Offaly on the weekend of June 20 and 21.
