Fr Tom Celebrates Silver Jubilee

Parishioners have been invited to a function in neighbouring Newmarket this Saturday evening to celebrate the silver jubilee of Fr Tom Fitzpatrick’s ordination to the priesthood. Doonbeg native, Fr Tom became curate in Sixmilebridge in 1983 just after his ordination and he remained in the parish until 1987 when transferred by the late Bishop Harty as chaplain to Ennis Vocational School. Fr Tom has been parish priest of Newmarket for the past two years. A mass of thanksgiving will be celebrated at 7.30pm followed afterwards by refreshments and presentations in Newmarket community centre.
