Fitzy's Century of Championship Appearances
Friday, 6th April 2012
Submitted by Senior Club PRO

In October 2011, sixmilebridgegaa.com reported that Davy Fitzgerald had made his 100th championship appearance for Sixmilebridge in the semi-final win over Cratloe. It marked a fine achievement for the Clare senior hurling manager who made his senior club debut in 1989 and hurled championship in four different decades.

Seventy nine players featured alongside him on the field of play while six quality keepers, five of whom represented their county at some stage, served as his understudy. Amazingly this landmark figure of 100 ‘caps’ still does not make him his club’s most capped player with four other stalwarts ahead of him.

For the record here are the 100 championship games Fitzy has featured in.
