Our U14 Hurlers started their Championship campaign 2 weeks ago away to Ballyea. This game was a very close affair for 45 mins with only a single score between eh teams before the home team pulled away at the end to win by 3-16 to 2-12. Liam Mulready scored our 2 goals on the night and the loss meant we had a must win game against Kilmaley in Round 2.
Team V Ballyea: Lorcan Benoit, Aidan Kearney, Noah Seago O'Sullivan, Padraig Collins; Jack Fitzpatrick , Christopher Healy, James Harrison; Sean Conlon, Jack Monahan; Cillian Rafferty, Jack Reddan, Caelan Hayes; Blake Corbett, Liam Mulready, Tomas Tubridy.
This morning in O'Garney park we welcomed Kilmaley for what was essentially a 1/4 Final game - Scores were hard to come by in the first half with a strong wind blowing towards Mount Ivers with the elements in favour of the visitors. The half time score was 5 points a piece in what was a a gruelling dog fight by both teams for possession with scores hard to come by.
The Bridge management made 3 changes at half time with substitute Cian Flannery scoring the all important goal to put the Bridge ahead mid way through the second half as they lead by 5 points. Kilmaley to their credit fought back and got a goal of their own before a few late points helps the home side see out the game.
Next up is an away semi final against 2024 U13 Champions Newmarket who defeated Doora Barefield and Corofin/Ruan on their side of the draw.

A busy week ahead for our U14 Academy team as they face Newmarket tomorrow (Monday) evening in Newmarket and are on the road again on Wednesday night to play Ballyea away.
