Last Sunday our U11 boys took part in a Festival of Hurling organised by the Clarinbridge Club in Galway.
A total of 8 Clubs, representing the 5 Counties of Galway, Clare, Limerick, Kilkenny & Kildare were involved. Over 200 boys took part on the day.
Sixmilebridge entered three even Teams and each Team got to play in five matches throughout the day. Every Team got to play in a Final which is exactly what is needed at this level. Hurling was played from 11AM all the way out to almost 4PM!
The Sixmilebridge Teams all played fantastic Hurling, were very competitive in each & every game which is just great to see and encouraging to know we are most definitely on the right track in terms of development with this bunch of boys. Events like these are excellent opportunities for the boys to showcase their Hurling skills, see how they compare to other Clubs from other Counties but most importantly have FUN with their teammates and even boys from opposing Teams!
This group of boys are really dedicated and have put in huge effort since the start of the year. And it really showed on Sunday! The Teamwork, passing, tackling, hooking ,blocking, catching and scoring on display was just super to see.
So well done to the boys on a huge effort and for representing the Club so well on the day. We will have many more great days out with this group in the coming weeks & months.
Many thanks to everyone who made the trip up to Clarinbridge on the day; boys, parents, siblings, supporters, family pets 😊 and the Coaches. Weather conditions were absolutely perfect for Hurling and made the day even more enjoyable.
Huge thank you to @ClarinbridgeGaa for hosting us on the day. Fantastic hospitality shown throughout with the amount of food & beverages provided, facilities and pitches were really excellent, and the whole event was planned and executed in top class fashion. Míle buíochas Droichead an Chláirín. 👏
