Along with our regular volunteer work at the club, there has been some great work going on over the last few weeks on upgrading the water tanks area and setup at the bottom end of the main pitch. The water tanks which are in place a long number of years now are in need of refurbishment as some of valves, connections and coatings have deteriorated over time. The water tanks are filled using a pump system which draws water from a well below ground. The water tanks when full are used to feed the irrigation system which waters the pitch in times of very hot weather. Indeed the irrigation system has been in action a number of times already this year.
All of the above takes a large number of volunteers to make it all work, and the club is grateful that we have these volunteers who give of their time freely in the background to ensure our facilities are kept in top order.
Thanks to the following who helped out over a number of evenings, Adrian Chaplin, Pa Mulready, Dylan Downes, Cillian Murphy, Dara Fitzgerald, Ronan Tuohy, Conor Deasy, Noel Purcell & Daniel Chaplin as well as Pat Chaplin and Mickey Rohan. Well done also to the Field Team led by Sean Stack who continue to keep our fields and facilities in tip top shape.
