The U10s had a brilliant trip to Athenry today, filled with fun and plenty of hurling. The day kicked off bright and early, with all players and coaches gathering at 8am before setting off on the bus. A total of 28 players made the journey, full of energy and excitement from the get go.
There was great craic on the way up as the group focused on the day ahead. Upon arrival, the boys faced Athenry in three highly competitive matches. The games were full of skill with plenty of great scores from both sides. Each player gave it their all, showing impressive talent and determination throughout.
After the matches, everyone was welcomed upstairs at Athenry GAA, where a fantastic spread of food was laid on for all players, coaches, and parents. The hospitality was top-class and much appreciated by all who organised it.
The U10s then headed to the Galway Plaza, where the boys were treated to Supermac’s — a well-earned meal, kindly provided by the SMB Minor Club. The lads were in great form, and the day was topped off with plenty of singing and laughter on the bus journey home. The young lads put on an impromptu concert that had everyone in great form by the time they returned.
A memorable and enjoyable day was had by all, and the U10s will now turn their attention to preparing for their own tournament, which they will host at the end of August in SMB.
Well done and thanks to all involved — players, coaches, and supporters — for making it such a special day!
A big thank you to Athenry GAA for such fantastic hospitality.
