The Underage titles for this group of players have been won by the 'Bridge (U14 2022 and U15 20023) while Inagh/Kilnamona were successful at U16 in 2024 so this clash was always going to be a hard call. Throw in the fact that both teams drew in O'Garney Park in the group stages and you had what was definitely a 50/50 game to decide who was going to qualify for the Minor Hurling County final in 2025.

Inagh/Kilnamona were quickest out of the blocks and lead by 2 points to 1 after 5 minutes before the 'Bridge had 2 rapid fire goals from young gun Cian Mullins and full forward Conor Gleeson to put the Bridge into a 2-01 to 0-02 point lead after 10 minutes - a lead they were never going to lose.
Some of the highlights from the first half were the aerial fielding, a sideline cut from Zak Phelan from half way as well as the free taking of Rory Chaplin.

At the short whistle we lead on a score of 2-09 to 1-07 and despite the 5 point lead the speed at which IK returned to the field we all knew we were in for a right battle for the next 30 minutes. Inagh/Kilnamona hot the Bridge for 3 points to reduce the lead and the game ebbed and flowed for the remaining 25 minutes before a nail biting finish ensued as the 'Bridge lead by 2 points. Inagh/Kilnamona pushed for the goal the needed and some heroics from Conor Keogh who was outstanding for the game ensure the Bridge progressed to the final.

The final will see the Bridge play the Clarecastle magpies who accounted for Scariff/Ogonnolloe in their Semi Final - Both the Bridge and Clarecastle are the only 2 teams to go unbeaten in the Championship so this showdown for the Willie Chaplin cup promises to be epic.
Its 14 years since our last win at this grade (2011) so there will be great excitement in the club in the coming weeks - This coupled with our U15 Hurlers winning Clare Feile & Championship earlier this summer and our U14A hurlers contesting the County final this week has meant all the young boys and girls in the club are buzzing about the place with their hurley and ball.
