Munster Junior Hurling Quarter-Final
Campion Insurance 3-24 Beckman Coulter/East Clare Fitness 4-20 (AET)
Campion Insurance and Beckman Coulter/East Clare Fitness played out a thrilling contest at Clarecastle on Wednesday night that needed extra time, a goal line clearance and a great save in the last second of the match to separate the teams. Campion led by a point at the end of normal time but Nicky O'Connell fired over a last minute free to send the game to extra time. Beckman had the better of extra time and led by 2 points with 3 minutes left but 4 brilliant points in a row from Aaron Ryan fired Campion back in front. Beckman then threw everything at Campion in the final play of the match to get a goal to send them through but Tossy Ryan cleared off the line and Ronan Tucker made a great save to keep them in front. What a game and great credit to both teams who were brilliant throughout the contest.

Campion started the game well with 2 points from Aaron Ryan and Niall Madden. Beckman hit back with a goal from Michael O'Loughlin after getting on the end of a good ball from Sean Beagley. Niall McGrath levelled the match after a good run and point after 5 minutes. A free from Aaron Ryan put Campion back in front but back came Beckman with a point from O'Loughlin. Good play from Beckman on 11 minutes saw Cathal Lenihan score their second goal to open up a 3 point lead. Back came Campion with 1-1 from Aaron Ryan to go back in front. It was end to end stuff for the rest of the half with both sides scoring some great points. As the game went into injury time Beckman led by a point. Campion finished the half strong with a goal from Sean Ryan and a point from Niall Madden to leave it Campion Insurance 2-10 Beckman Coulter/East Clare Fitness 2-7 at half time.
Two points inside the first minute of the second half from Mark Stakelum and Niall McGrath opened up a 5 point lead for Campion. Back came Beckman with O'Loughlin finding Donald Devanney inside the 21 and Devanney fired past Ronan Tucker to reduce the lead to 2 points. A minute later Beckman went back in front. A good run and pass from Sean Beagley to Jathan McMahon saw McMahon score a great goal to put Beckman 1 point in front. Beckman held this lead until the 60 minutes when Aaron Ryan won a ball in the corner, rounded his man and fired an unstoppable shot to the back of the net to put Campion back in front. Beckman won the puckout and after a foul on Nicky O'Connell he split the posts from the resultant free to send the game to extra time.

Campion started extra time well with points from Tom Stakelum ad Sean Ryan. Back came Beckman with a point from O'Connell. A good run and shot from Michael O'Loughlin saw Ronan Tucker pull off a brilliant save to keep Campion in front. Conor Burke fired over a good score for Beckman to level the match again. Another pointed free from O'Connell saw Beckman lead by a point at half time in extra time. A great score from Jathan McMahon opened up a 2 point lead for Beckman. Aaron Ryan then turned on the style with 4 brilliant scores in a row to put Campion 2 points in front. Late drama with Beckman going in search of a goal to win the game but Campion defended heroically to earn their place in the Munster Semi-Final against Cork Garda or Coolmore/Ballydoyle who meet on Monday night.
