Sixmilebridge’s U11 camogie team has made a strong and encouraging start to the year, showing steady progress both in training and on match days.

The girls are participating in the U11 Camogie League in Clare. They have demonstrated skill and a fantastic attitude toward development.
So far this season, the squad has completed 12 training sessions, building a solid foundation on their core camogie skills. Their application at training is clearly translating onto the pitch, where performances have been full of energy and determination.
On Saturday, March 28, the team played against Truagh Clonlara in Cappa Lodge. The match, played in a 10-a-side format, saw the girls work at supporting one another with the coaches focusing the girls on their positions & striking. Big positive from the day was 19 girls of the 20 who togged were on the age.

More recently, on Saturday, April 18, the girls travelled to face Clooney Quin. Once again, with the 10 a side format, the team performed very well, maintaining their high standards and continuing to develop their match awareness and confidence on the ball.
The consistency across both games reflects the hard work being put in at training.
A particularly positive aspect of the season so far is that some players have begun to earn opportunities at U13 level. This is a great opportunity and a testament to their ability and progress, offering valuable experience that will benefit both the players and the team as a whole in the future.

Overall, the girls have started the year in great form, showing a super attitude and a real desire to improve. Their enthusiasm and teamwork are a credit to them. Thanks must also go to the coaches for their continued guidance, encouragement, and dedication towards the girls development.
