away just in time for the 6.45pm throw in on Wednesday, 27-May-26 at O'Garney Park for our next match in the U13B Championship versus Cratloe. It was a heavy and humid evening and so not ideal conditions for playing a match but we went for it! With just 15x players (of which six or so players had an energetic Academy game on Monday evening) and no subs we were at a disadvantage from the outset. Thank you again to the U11s for kindly allowing one of their players to play at short notice to cover one of our players who sustained a late injury. Cratloe was a much stronger team but our girls maintained their composure and kept playing despite the scoreline slipping away from them. Cratloe were deserving winners. Thank you to all involved especially to the coaches for their unwavering support and advocation for this team.
U13 camogie
On a very warm and sunny Monday evening, 25-May-26, we welcomed Tubber to Cappaghlodge for the next match in the U13 Academy series. Despite the heat, the work rate and effort of our team was fantastic, each of the girls gave it their all. It was a really enjoyable game with the second half more enthralling than the first with some fine displays of skill! The score line did not go our way but that does not take away from the performance of the girls. Thank you once again to the U11s who made themselves available to play, this ensured we had sufficient players to field a team, we did not have any subs which was harder on the girls but they took this in their stride.
Thank you and well done to all involved!
U13s camogie
Our U13s played Ballyea in O'Garney Park on Saturday, 16-May-26. It was an exciting and competitive game. The windy conditions seemed to hamper scoring opportunities as it was still nil all at half-time. Both teams dug deep and fought hard with lots of good blocking, tackling and striking. Despite our best efforts, Ballyea scored a goal and 2 points in the second half. Our goalie Edel Benoit had a brilliant game, making many excellent saves. Well done and thank you to all involved.
