The U12s have just concluded the busiest week of their season so far. The week got off to a great start with the 39 players who attended training on Wednesday evening treated to ice-cream at the end of the session. Nothing like a choc-ice after a tough session to send everyone home smiling! Big thanks to the club for organizing.

On Friday evening, David 'Dean Rock' O'Connor took a few of the lads for a free-taking session. Feedback was so good from the lads that Doc is considering taking his Master Class on the road for the winter (after he works out the price list #DocRock)

Games v Inagh Kilnamona

On Saturday morning we fielded 3 teams when we hosted Inagh Kilnamona in O'Garney Park. Team Blue, captained by Jack McNamara, got proceedings underway in what was a stern test against strong opposition. The Bridge boys eventually lost by a point and are looking forward to a rematch in the coming weeks. Standout performances from the Blue team included Luke Deegan, Dylan Keogh and Zak Phelan.

The Yellow team also had a great tussle with their IK opponents. They battled gamely to lead the game in the second half after going 4 goals behind early in the match. IK got a couple of late scores to earn a 10-4 to 10-4 draw. Lots of great performances in this game too with captain Darragh Sweeney, Conor Fitzpatrick and Tommy Healy shining.

Team Orange, captained by Evan Madigan, had a tougher time of it in the first half of their game but got more into the game in the second half. Best for Team Orange were Oisin O'Brien and Liam Sweeney with Dean Flanagan, Dylan Tobin and Conor Fitzgerald also making strong contributions.

Games v Ballyea

The sun shone again on Sunday morning where we fielded two teams against Ballyea in O'Garney Park. Ballyea have been tough opposition for our squad over the last couple of years and Sunday was no exception.

SMB Blue had a titanic struggle with their Ballyea counterparts with the game ending 6-12 apiece. The 'Bridge got off to a flying start with Ballyea pulling themselves back into the game after the first waterbreak. From then on it was a ding dong battle, with fantastic displays all over the field. This was a great team performance with Rory Chaplin playing a captains part with a solid morning on the frees and chipping in with a couple of goals, with Cathal Ryan and Donal O'Leary also impressing.

The SMB Yellow game was also a tough fought affair. The lads battled back after a slow start and really came into the game in the second half though they couldn't quite catch the Ballyea lads despite scoring 5-9. Best for Team Yellow were Dougie Brew and Cuan McGiollaCerra with Charlie Keane, Evan Madigan, Conor Gleeson and captain Liam Sweeney among the goals.

Many thanks to all our refs over the weekend: Kevin Corry, Kieran Keating, Mike O'Halloran, Kieran Liddane and Mike Quinn.

Best of luck to all our players starting secondary school this week!
