While we reported yesterday about Professor Pa Sheehan flying the Bridge flag for the Montana Grizzlies at a tournament in San Fran, today we see on the Khaleej Times where one of our past netminders Stephen Fleming collected silverware at a tournament in Abu Dhabi.

The tournament involved two Middle East all star selection teams made up of Dubai/Sharjah against Abu Dhabi/Qatar/Bahrain. It was part of the all star weekend with the current Irish All Star footballers in town at the moment. The final score in the hurling game was:

Dubai and Sharjah  2-15 to Abu Dhabi/Qatar/Bahrain 1-13

Fleming lined out in goals for the winners with other dalcassians including Cormac O Regan from Eire Og and Ozer McMahon from Ogonnelloe.

Shake Maktoum Fleming as he is known in the Emirates has been living in the desert for the last number of years since taking up a teaching post - Local coaches in the Bridge say he was always destined for this life as he was often spotted making sand castles in the goalmouth at O'Garney park during games.

Please note his title was not misspelt - it was gained from his behaviour (dose of the Shakes) after a night out in McGettigans as opposed to the compay of Sheiks he keeps who made their money in the oil business.
