Sixmilebridge 1-16
Clonlara 0-24
Venue - Cusack Park
Referee - Jim Hickey
Our Seniors lined out in Cusack Park on Saturday evening in conditions that at times could only be described as sheet rain. Facing Clonlara, who had won their opening round against the Mills, the Bridge had also won their first round against Crusheen. Clonlara, managed by Donal Madden, no stranger to the 'Bridge as he's married to 'Bridge woman Siobhan Flannery.

Helped by a final tally of 10 points from John Conlon, Clonlara led by 4 points at half time, 0-14 to 1-07. In the first half, Clonlara also had a 4 point contribution from Ian and Colm Galvin. First half contributions for the 'Bridge came from Brian Corry with the goal and a point, and also contributions from Deasy with 2 points, Alex Morey with 2 points, one from a free and Kennedy and Malone with a point each.
The Bridge started well in the second half, playing with the wind and had the first 3 points of the half, coming from 2 frees from Alex Morey and a point from play from Lorcan Fitzpatrick, this brought the deficit back to one point, which would be the closest the 'Bridge would come to Clonlara for the remainder of the game. A couple of points from Seadna Morey who looked threatening when he forayed up into the forwards and pointed contributions from Alex Morey - 2 frees and points also from Shane Golden, Cathal Malone and Lorcan Fitzpatrick saw the 'Bridge eventually lose out to a determined Clonlara side on a scoreline of 1-16 to 0-24.

Next up for the 'Bridge is O' Callaghans Mills in the final group game and they need to win to avoid relegation. The 'Bridge will have to win to ensure booking a quarter final spot.
