Junior Bs Back to Winning Ways
Sixmilebridge 4-16
Whitegate 0-12
Venue - Tulla
Referee - Shane O' Loughlin
Mikey Corbett's Junior Bs put in a great performance on Saturday last against Whitegate in Round 2 of the Championship. This being game 2 of 4 in the group stages, they needed a win to ensure they have a chance of progressing entering into the final group games.
The Bs led by 6 points at half time and drove on in the second half to win out by 16 points. A blistering start from corner forward Tom Forde saw him tap over some fantastic long range points from acute angles, Tom certainly benefitting from plenty of game time this year and indeed he added a green flag also to his tally of 1-3 for the day. Dara Twoomey and young Jack Lee shored up the full back line with experienced Kilkenny defender Mark O' Donovan and they ensured that no easy scores were coughed up on the day. Gerry O' Halloran played well in goals keeping a clean sheet on the day. John Hogan had a superb game at centerback and showed he is progressing with each game. Donald Devanney returned to the team for Round 2 and contributed 2-2 for his efforts.
Best for the 'Bridge on the day were Mark O' Donovan at full back, John Hogan at center back, Tom Forde with some lovely points, Donald Devanney and Paul Corbett also on the scoring front and Stiofan Fitzpatrick who contributed 6 points from play.
Next up for the Junior Bs are Ruan in Rd. 3 and Feakle in Rd. 4, these fixtures are yet to be finalised.
